Digital archiving and author self-archiving

The Sahelian Journal of Health Sciences (JSSS) regards the long-term preservation of its publications as an obligation towards authors and readers alike. A published article must remain accessible even if the journal ceases to appear.

Preservation in the PKP Preservation Network

Every published issue is deposited in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), the Public Knowledge Project's preservation network, which is based on LOCKSS technology and listed in the Keepers Registry. Each issue is transferred automatically after publication and replicated across several independent sites.

As of 24 September 2026, all fourteen issues published since the journal's foundation have been deposited and their receipt confirmed by the network.

Institutional preservation

A digital copy of each issue is held by the Faculty of Health Sciences of André Salifou University, Zinder, the journal's publisher.

Persistent identifiers

Every article is assigned a DOI (prefix 10.67869) registered with Crossref. These identifiers remain valid independently of the website address and continue to point to the preserved version of the article.

Author self-archiving

The CC BY 4.0 licence under which articles are published allows authors to deposit their work, with no embargo, in an institutional or subject repository of their choice. All versions are covered:

  • the preprint (submitted version);
  • the author's accepted manuscript, after peer review;
  • the version of record, as published in the journal.

The only condition is that the full reference of the article and its DOI be cited.
