Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Journal Sahélien des Sciences de la Santé (JSSS) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics, guided by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties — authors, reviewers and editors — are expected to uphold the standards below.

Authors' responsibilities

  • Originality and integrity: manuscripts must be original, unpublished and not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and data fabrication or falsification are strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship: only individuals who made a substantial contribution to the conception, conduct or interpretation of the work may be listed as authors. All authors approve the submitted version.
  • Sources and citations: the work of others must be properly cited and referenced.
  • Research ethics: for any study involving human participants, authors confirm that informed consent and approval from a competent ethics committee were obtained, in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki; for animal studies, compliance with animal welfare regulations.
  • Conflicts of interest and funding: authors disclose any conflict of interest and all sources of funding.

Reviewers' responsibilities

  • Assess manuscripts objectively, confidentially and in a timely manner.
  • Alert the editorial office to any substantial similarity with published work or any suspected misconduct.
  • Decline the assignment in the event of a conflict of interest.

Editors' responsibilities

  • Base publication decisions solely on scientific quality and relevance, without discrimination.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of manuscripts and the fairness of the review process.
  • Prevent and manage conflicts of interest.

Misconduct, corrections and retractions

Any allegation of misconduct (plagiarism, fraudulent data, disputed authorship, redundant publication) is examined in line with COPE guidance. Where warranted, the journal issues an erratum, a correction notice or a retraction. Published articles carry a DOI and a CrossMark button enabling readers to check for updates.

Open access and rights

Articles are published in open access under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence. Authors retain the copyright of their work.

Conflicts of interest

Unless otherwise stated in the article, the authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.
