Abstract
Introduction :
Non-purulent tuberculous pericarditis is rare in developing countries. The objective of this study was to describe the management of a case of purulent pericarditis complicating pneumonia in a 9-year-old patient and to review the literature.
Observation :
this was a case of para-pneumonic pericarditis with significant pericardial collection complicating pneumonia associated with pleurisy occurring in a child with no particular history. The etiological research was not contributory; the patient had benefited from probabilistic antibiotic therapy combined with pericardial drainage.
Conclusion :
The interest of this clinical case is particularly due to the very abundant and purulent nature of this pericardial collection, the absence of identification of the organism and its regression under antibiotic therapy and pericardial drainage.
