Abstract

Introduction :
Low-grade tubulomucinous spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney is an extremely rare tumor. The aim of this study was to report a case of low-grade tubulomucinous spindle cell renal cell carcinoma.

Observation :
This was a 35-year-old woman with chronic left lumbar pain, in whom abdominopelvic ultrasound revealed a 13 x 11 cm left renal mass. She underwent a left nephrectomy and histopathological examination concluded to be a low-grade tubulomucinous spindle cell carcinoma. Progression was favourable with a 12-month follow-up.

Conclusion :
the diagnosis of low-grade tubulomucinous spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney is based on histology, and its treatment on surgery without additional therapy.
