Abstract

Introduction :
The Health Promoting Hospital (HPS) is not a hospital that abandons care, but in addition to this includes in its organizational structure and in its culture the concepts, values and standards of health promotion. It is easy to see that it does not do enough to equip patients and their families. This should help them to participate actively in their care by making informed choices regarding their health. The objective of this study was to analyze the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the actors of CHD - Atacora in relation to the HPS approach.

Materials and method :
This is a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study from February 1 to July 15, 2019. Three (03) categories of actors were involved: hospital staff of all categories, community actors and finally patients or their guides.

Results :
The majority of actors had poor knowledge (92.4%), an approximate level of perception (88.7%) and an inadequate level of practice (91.0%) regarding the HPS approach. The category of actors and the level of education influence knowledge (p = 0.0002 and p = 0.001), attitudes (p ˂0.001 and p ˂0.001) and practices (p = 0.0003 and p ˂0.001 ) with regard to HPH.

Conclusion :
to improve the level of knowledge, perception and practice of the actors of the CHD - Atacora in terms of the HPH approach, it is necessary to take into account the categories of actors and the level of education hence the importance act on the social determinants of health by educating all children.
