Abstract

Introduction :
Obturator dislocation is a rare injury that almost always occurs in a high energy traumatic context and most often in a road accident The objective of this study was to report a rare case of the obturator hip dislocation in an adult seen late, treated by progressive traction.

Observation :
This was a 28-year-old patient with blunt trauma to the right hip whose clinical and paraclinical assessment carried out in a health district led to the diagnosis of an obturator dislocation of the right hip. After a first unsuccessful attempt to reduce the dislocation, reduction was obtained on day 4 post-traumatic after progressive traction in a specialized department.

Conclusion :
The reduction of the obturator dislocation seen late can be difficult or even impossible, requiring the realization of a resolving traction before obtaining the reduction.
