Abstract

Introduction :
Neurofibromatosis type 1 is an autosomal dominant disease with cutaneous and neurological manifestations being the most frequent. Ocular manifestations are rarer. The aim of this study was to report a case of neurofibromatosis type 1 with an ocular manifestation diagnose in Niger.

Observation :
This was a 33-year-old patient, clinical examination revealed multiple bilateral Lish nodules associated with milk coffee spots and neurofibromas, confirming the diagnosis. Management consisted of therapeutic abstinence and regular monitoring.

Conclusion :
Neurofibromatosis type 1 is a systemic disease, the ophthalmologist plays a crucial role in the diagnosis in the search for the Lisch nodule and rarely for the glioma of the optic pathways.
