Publication charges

The Sahelian Journal of Health Sciences (JSSS) publishes all of its articles in open access. This page sets out, from submission to publication, all charges that may be asked of authors.

Submission fee: none

Submitting a manuscript is free of charge. No fee is charged on submission or for peer review.

Article processing charge: 50,000 FCFA per article

The article processing charge is 50,000 FCFA per article (approximately €76), including editing charges. It falls due only after final acceptance of the manuscript and is payable to the journal's secretariat; proof of payment is the corresponding author's responsibility.

Payment plays no part at any stage in the editorial decision, which rests solely on peer review, completed before any request for payment.

No other charges

The JSSS charges no editorial processing fee, no page charges, no colour charges and no fee for withdrawing a manuscript after submission. Electronic offprints are sent to the corresponding author free of charge.

Waivers

The journal does not operate a waiver scheme: the article processing charge applies to every accepted article, without exception.

Reader access: free

Readers are never charged. All content is immediately open access, with no embargo and no registration, under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
